I am so blessed to be married to the man of my dreams, and have 3 beautiful children that daily show me God’s blessings in new ways.  It is only because of their love and support that I am able to pursue my passion of photography!

From my very first camera, I found a certain thrill in learning to capture that perfect photo.  I zoomed right in on all the details after uploading, and I picked the picture apart.  I was on a mission to find the perfect setting, the perfect light, and the perfect composition.  The technical aspect of photography was (and still is) exciting to me!

Then my oldest son arrived, and my picture-taking took on a whole new meaning.  We had pictures taken in a professional studio of the 3 of us smiling right at the camera to remember one day.  It was a perfect picture, but it was staged!  I realized at that moment I wanted more than just perfect pictures.  I wanted to take those beautiful moments of love and life and turn them into memories I could always treasure.  The things worth remembering were the looks of glee on my son’s face when Daddy was chasing him…and that crazy face he made when he was blowing bubbles.

So during those momentous occasions in life that have screamed, “photo op!”, when everyone else turned their cameras to the stage, I snapped one of those and then I went for the scenes that weren’t posed.  Someone urged their subject to smile and, “say cheese!” and I waited until the moment just after the picture when the real smile came out.  I played chase and caught the brightest smile when the little ones were running away from the family photo.  I gasped in shock as my husband threw our son too high, and snapped a picture!  My camera and I seek to tell the story of the moment.  Those photos are the ones that reflect the light and joy right back.

Capturing those genuine moments and telling life stories is so much fun for me.  Pictures do say a thousand words, and its the truth and the meaning behind it all that speaks more than anything.  Just as every fingerprint was created unique, for every person, that story takes a different shape.

And my vision is not just to tell stories, but to help others tell theirs.  I am constantly learning more about photography, and love to share that journey!  Enjoying many blessings with my camera at my side, I seek to inspire, encourage, connect, and have fun with all those that cross my path.

I’d love to tell your story next!
