Jacksonville NC Children’s Photographer | One Year Portraits | Luke

Last week, I had the amazing opportunity to work with one of the cutest one year olds ever!  This handsome little man won me over with the most precious smile!

And the overalls…and the cutest shoes! How adorable is he?!

Watching his reaction to the sand and the shore was priceless! He was so curious…and had the most precious smiles of glee to explore the beach.

It makes me so happy to see how his mom joyously laughed to see him exploring and enjoying the beach…even when he ended up getting a little wet!

We had to cut the session a little short because the wind picked up and it was COLD, but I won’t soon forget what a wonderful session it was. Life is such an amazing gift, and seeing the beach through Luke’s eyes was such a blessing.

And when I see how tiny Luke is compared to that vast ocean, I can’t help but catch my breath at God’s creation with him!

The LORD on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yes, than the mighty waves of the sea. – Psalm 93:4

Happy first birthday, Luke! I hope that every day in your year ahead is as full of joy and wonder as these steps on the beach!

Jacksonville NC Photographer | Baby Portraits | Hadley Grace

I was so excited to work with this precious little baby! Her mom & dad were my very first clients! It is so amazing and surreal to not only watch their family grow and change…but my photography with it. 🙂 I cannot say enough how appreciative I am of the families that trust me with their memories year after year!

This session was so much fun because precious little Hadley is the smilingest 2 month old I think I have ever met! She was so enamored with her Daddy making silly faces and having fun with her…and equally so with Mommy.

December 25th is just around the corner, and I know these baby portraits will always be treasured as a keepsake of Baby’s First Christmas!

Merry Christmas to a wonderful family! May God continue to bless you during this wonderful season of celebrating God’s amazing gift of love…what Christmas is all about!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

(Safety notice: Baby’s safety around the Christmas lights was a priority. She was not wrapped in the lights, or allowed to put them in her mouth. Mommy was right next to us as we were posing to insure baby’s safety also. Please NEVER allow your children to play or handle electrical cords or strands of lights. These photos were careful to observe every precaution necessary to baby’s safety.)

Photo of the Week

Zoe means life.  There was no better name for her! 🙂

I didn’t post as much as I intended this week…but I’ve been collecting some great photos.  It was hard to choose one favorite to share here, but this one says so much! So excited to share more very soon!

Hoping that in this lapse filled with storm preparations, power outages, and more…that this blog post finds everyone safe and settling back into routine.  My heartfelt prayers are with anyone recovering from Irene’s impact!

Next week, there will be some more stories and posts to the blog.

Here is the photo of the week.  Eli’s turn!

Family Fun!

I LOVE working with the L family!  This was our 3rd shoot together, and every session has been more fun than the last!  And each session is my new favorite time with them! 🙂  This session was all about having fun and capturing memories and moments of the family together…just as they are!  I can’t help but smile as I look at them.  🙂

How about a game of leap frog?  There’s a whole series of kids jumping over each other.  It was so funny!

The kids also had a great time chasing each other around the grassy area.

Little brother made a valiant effort to catch them!  Wait for me!!

This a family full of love for each other!

Joy-full.  That’s what comes to mind every time I think of the L family!

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee. – Psalm 5:11

Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. L for letting me capture these moments with your family!  I can’t wait for the next session!  🙂

Boys will be Boys!

Do you recognize these two?  They are my friend Cheri’s little boys from the maternity shoot earlier in the week.  While I was grabbing snapshots of her, they were having so much fun just being themselves.

I love how Little Brother stared at my camera.  He was watching me work intently and sweetly, so I swung the camera up to grab a snapshot.  Haha!

Then Big Brother comes over.  “Are you going to pose too?”  Oh yes, he will!

It’s so much fun as a photographer to watch personalities unfold in front of the camera…when you don’t ask for smiles!  One thing is for sure, boys will be boys!

Sister on the Way!

Ready for some more maternity pictures?  This is one of my best friends in the whole world, Cheri!  She met me at a park just outside Jacksonville, NC for a playdate/maternity session.  I can’t believe it’s almost time to welcome their 4th little blessing to the family.  And…it’s a little girl!

You can tell that Big Brother is ready to play and welcome her into the family. I think he is very confident in his ability to help lead the way as a good example.

And of course Big Sister is thrilled.  A sister!  There is just nothing like having a sister! From the excitement I’ve watched grow over these past months, I know they are going to be special friends!

Little Brother (soon to be BIG brother) was so loving with his Mommy too.  I know that they both are soaking up all the love of this short time that he’s still the baby.  🙂

This little sister is so loved already, you can feel it by just being around the family.

I don’t think I could ever tire of maternity portraits!  The expectant time before a baby arrives is amazing.  Never again will we all wonder what this new little person will look like!  I just can’t wait for her to arrive…just about any day now!
