Full Circle!

Tonight’s session was so surreal! This couple was my very first photo shoot for anyone other than family. Their engagement session was a few years back, but it feels like yesterday! I shot their session with my little point and shoot camera. 🙂

Sessions with them are so much fun, because Paul has such amazing and creative ideas.  The photo below, in fact, was his idea!

Now they are expecting a little girl in October. I’m so excited for them!

You can tell she’s Daddy’s little girl already. 🙂

It’s so amazing to know there’s a precious little girl growing in there…and one day will smile, laugh, and play with the family!

Can’t wait to meet your precious bundle!

Sister on the Way!

Ready for some more maternity pictures?  This is one of my best friends in the whole world, Cheri!  She met me at a park just outside Jacksonville, NC for a playdate/maternity session.  I can’t believe it’s almost time to welcome their 4th little blessing to the family.  And…it’s a little girl!

You can tell that Big Brother is ready to play and welcome her into the family. I think he is very confident in his ability to help lead the way as a good example.

And of course Big Sister is thrilled.  A sister!  There is just nothing like having a sister! From the excitement I’ve watched grow over these past months, I know they are going to be special friends!

Little Brother (soon to be BIG brother) was so loving with his Mommy too.  I know that they both are soaking up all the love of this short time that he’s still the baby.  🙂

This little sister is so loved already, you can feel it by just being around the family.

I don’t think I could ever tire of maternity portraits!  The expectant time before a baby arrives is amazing.  Never again will we all wonder what this new little person will look like!  I just can’t wait for her to arrive…just about any day now!

Carolina Blue

Even though I’m not booking regular sessions just yet, I had to sneak away for a little bit to grab some maternity photos of the cutest expectant couple!  Eli joined me for this shoot in the Moby wrap.  I know that Melanie and Randall are going to be fantastic parents…it didn’t phase them a bit when Eli was grumpy.  They smiled and laughed, and thought about the days ahead I’m sure!

Did I mention yet that Melanie and Randall are die hard Carolina fans?  Well…for starters, they had the cutest way of telling the family they were pregnant.  They presented the future grandparents with a tiny pair of Carolina booties!  So I wasn’t that surprised when I saw Daddy pulling a Carolina blanket out of the car for pictures!

In downtown Jacksonville, NC, there’s this beautiful hill that overlooks the water, and what a perfect place to toss the blanket and think about the little life about to join them!  It’s so amazing to me that even when we’re still in the womb, we have started developing our personalities…and that there’s a plan!

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  – Jeremiah 29:11

In this case, I’m sure those plans involve cheering for Carolina!  I can’t wait to meet this little guy sometime between now and the beginning of August.  I want to see him right away and inspect those feet for tar!

Happy Father’s Day!

On this day, I’m thankful to my Dad for all the wonderful times we have shared! And I am thankful for my husband…who shows me every day what an amazing Dad he is to our three beautiful children.  And most of all, I’m thankful to my Heavenly Father that has blessed me with them!

Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege of photographing some other wonderful Dads with their children. Here’s a brief tribute to some of those dads…and to all the others that aren’t pictured!
